Demo April 2026 Changelog
When the Meowgic demo launched April 30, 2026, Lazy Turtle Games published a comprehensive changelog documenting months of playtest iteration. These notes explain features full-release players inherited and bugs fixed before launch.
Major Gameplay Additions
First level became infinitely replayable with slight procedural variation each run. Pyro Shield joined the spell roster as a defensive option — see Pyro Shield guide. Arena expanded to 3v3 PvP with gold extraction rules. Proximity chat gained 3D spatial audio so teammates farther away sound quieter — details in proximity voice chat.
Speech recognition received a major pass, reducing false casts and improving multi-language phrase detection. Orange fur color landed April 22 ahead of the broader May customization patch.
Localization and Controls
Eleven spell languages joined beyond English: IT, DE, BR Portuguese, PL, PT Portugal, KR, JP, CN, RU, FR. Korean remains text-only for some phrases. Meow pronunciation simplified across all languages for revive consistency.
Controls added hold-to-run, Magic/Use button swap, mouse button remapping, and Join button relocation to main menu. Spellbook scroll pages now turn through all known spells; last cast displays on the oscillogram HUD. Repeat Stop command releases players held by levitation.
Bug Fixes and Performance
Fixed Blink wall phasing exploit, Fly casting through walls, Meow interaction with You are royal now spell, and audio filter FPS drops. Monster visuals and AI improved on the first location. Graphics pass upgraded first biome presentation.
Many fixes carried directly into the July 20 launch build. If you encounter similar bugs post-launch, check whether a Steam update addressed them or visit our voice troubleshooting guide for audio-specific issues.
