Background noise from fans, open windows, and TV audio is the second biggest cause of misfires after sensitivity set too high. Use a directional headset mic or enable noise suppression in your OS or Discord — but disable Discord's auto gain if it fights Meowgic's levels. If tornado keeps triggering when you say "fireball," the recognizer is hearing similar syllables; try customizing spell names to shorter, distinct phrases.

Latency matters in Arena 3v3. Recognition delay of even half a second can lose a duel. Wired headsets outperform Bluetooth for consistency. If wireless is your only option, use a low-latency codec and sit closer to the dongle. Review keyboard and mouse controls so you are not accidentally moving while casting — movement keys near the push-to-cast binding cause missed inputs on some layouts.

Advanced Troubleshooting

If basic fixes fail, work through this checklist systematically. Confirm Steam overlay is not stealing focus during cast windows. Update audio drivers and disable unused virtual audio devices in Windows Sound Control Panel. Test Meowgic with only Steam running — background voice chat apps sometimes lock the mic exclusively.

Check whether the issue is spell-specific or global. If only meow revive fails, the phrase may be too quiet or too similar to ambient game audio.
