Cat Customization Update — May 2026
Following demo feedback asking for deeper cat personalization, Lazy Turtle Games shipped a May 19, 2026 update adding five new fur types (including tuxedo), expanded hat pattern options, and quality-of-life polish ahead of the July launch. Orange fur arrived earlier in the April 22 patch.
New Customization Options
The May patch expanded the character creator at Cat Academy. Tuxedo pattern cats became a community-requested highlight — players joked about one-brain-cell orange cats casting fireball, and developers delivered both orange (April) and tuxedo (May) options. Hat pattern variety increased so squads of four wizards look distinct in co-op screenshots.

How to Customize Your Cat at Launch
Access the creator from Cat Academy before launching expeditions. Select fur palette entries including orange and tuxedo variants, then layer hat patterns. Changes apply immediately to your wizard model and persist across co-op sessions — teammates see your choices in lobby and in-game.
Coordinate with friends for color-coded roles: one tuxedo healer aesthetic, one orange DPS meme build, etc. Pair with custom spell names for maximum co-op comedy. Supporter Pack Rich Cat outfit stacks atop your base fur if you own Deluxe.
Future Customization Expectations
Developers thanked players for feedback and teased continued polish without promising a full transmog system. Track launch news and official Discord for post-launch cosmetic drops. Achievement hunters should note customization is not required for any of the 25 achievements.
