Meowgic Proximity Voice Chat Guide
The April 2026 demo added 3D spatial proximity voice chat — teammates farther away sound quieter, mimicking in-world distance. This complements spell casting (which also uses your mic) and changes how squads communicate during island splits and balloon extraction.
How Spatial Chat Works
When you enable proximity chat, your voice transmits to nearby cat wizards based on 3D position. Splitting to loot opposite island edges means faint comms — move closer or use clearer spell callouts. Spell casting uses separate push-to-cast input so you do not accidentally open mic during fireball unless configured otherwise.
Review voice casting controls alongside this page to balance comms mic vs spell mic behavior on single-headset setups.
Co-op Etiquette
Assign roles: one player makes tactical calls, others minimize idle chatter during spell recognition windows. Near balloon extraction, regroup physically in-game so proximity chat ensures revive callouts arrive in time.
External Discord bypasses proximity realism but adds latency — many groups mute Discord in-game sections for immersion. See join friends online for lobby setup.
Video Example — Voice Chaos
The clip below shows voice-triggered fly spells and ring delivery chaos — the same microphone handles spell recognition, so proximity chat discipline matters when multiple players speak simultaneously.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I disable proximity chat?
Check in-game audio settings for spatial chat toggles or use platform-level mute.
Does proximity chat affect spell recognition?
Spell casting uses push-to-cast; ambient teammate speech rarely triggers your spells if sensitivity is tuned.
Was proximity chat in the demo?
Yes. Added in the April 30, 2026 demo update with 3D spatial features.
